INSTITUTIONAL SUPPORTERS of the ARTS

Guest speakers who hail from government, academia, foundations, advocacy organizations, and private philanthropy come together to talk about the various ways that the arts sector is supported financially, and they discuss accountability and the definition of success.

Julie Burros is the former Chief of Arts and Culture for the City of Boston reporting directly to Mayor Marty Walsh. Previously she was the Director of Cultural Planning for the City of Chicago.

 

Allyson Esposito is Senior Director of Arts and Culture for the Boston Foundation, a $1 billion community foundation, where she has primary responsibility for cultural grant-making. She previously worked as the Director of Cultural Grant-making for the City of Chicago.

 

Lori Gross is the Associate Provost for Arts and Culture at Harvard University focusing on the university-wide arts agenda from day-to-day operational matters to strategic planning. She previously served as Director of Arts Initiatives and Advisor to the Associate Provost for MIT.

 

Ann Gund is a leading arts philanthropist supporting numerous cultural organizations including the American Repertory Theatre, the Museum of Fine Arts, among many others,

 

Matt Wilson, Harvard Kennedy School MC/MPA graduate, is the Executive Director of MASSCreative, a nonprofit  who organizes and advocates for arts and cultural organizations in the state of Massachusetts.
